It’s true! Slackware 13.37 has been released. Nearly a year in the making, you will appreciate the performance and stability that can only come with careful and rigorous testing. Slackware 13.37 uses the 2.6.37.6 Linux kernel (hence our new $SLACKWARE_VERSION.$KERNEL_VERSION naming system used for this release , and also ships with 2.6.38.4 kernels for those who want to run the latest (and also includes configuration files for 2.6.35.12 and 2.6.39-rc4). The long-awaited Firefox 4.0 web browser is included, the X Window System has been upgraded (and includes the open source nouveau driver for nVidia cards). The venerable Slackware installer has been improved as well, with support for installing to btrfs (for those who would like to try a new copy on write filesystem), a one-package-per-line display mode option, and alienBOB’s big surprise: an easy to set up PXE install server that runs right off the DVD!

Please consider supporting the Slackware project by picking up a copy of the Slackware 13.37 release from the Slackware Store. The discs are off to replication, but we’re accepting pre-orders for the official 6 CD set and the DVD. The CD set is the 32-bit x86 release, while the DVD is a dual-sided disc with the 32-bit x86 release on one side and the 64-bit x86_64 release on the other. And, we still have T-shirts (coming soon, a limited edition 13.37 release commemorative black T-shirt with the classic Slackware logo on the front, and a “leet” LILO bootscreen on the back) and other Slackware stuff there, so have a look around. Hari ini tidak sengaja iseng-iseng main ke project MySQL WorkBench dan ternyata ada update terbaru yaitu versi 5.2.31 yang announcement-nya bisa teman-teman baca di halaman MySQL Workbench 5.2.31 GA Available. Berbeda dari versi-versi sebelum-nya, pada versi ini ternyata MySQL Workbench tidak hanya mengusung tool Data Modelling saja melainkan menyediakan juga Query (sebagai ganti dari MySQL Query Browser) dan Administration (sebagai ganti dari MySQL Administration) (dulu ke 3 tool ini bisa disebut sebagai MySQL GUI Tool)

Selama mengikuti perkembangan Android di milis id-android@googlegroups.com ada yang paling mengesankan buat saya, yaitu tentang bagaimana caranya mengambil screenshot screen yang terdapat pada handphone kita Nah karena saya juga pengguna awam Android maka posting pertama ini juga yang enteng-enteng dulu Yuuk mari kita mulai aja

Pertama yang harus dilakukan agar kita bisa mengambil screenshot yaitu meng-aktifkan fitur USB Debugging pada HTC Desire yang anda miliki, sedangkan untuk mengaktifkan fitur ini langkah-nya yaitu pada tampilan Home Screen tekanlah tombol menu kemudian pilihlah opsi Settings seperti gambar dibawah ini :

Pernah ingin mencoba melakukan simulasi “jaringan lambat” ?? Jika iya, maka teman-teman dapat mencoba menggunakan sebuah shell script dengan nama LagFactory yang bisa di unduh pada http://software.inl.fr/trac/wiki/LagFactory Agar dapat menggunakan script LagFactory ini, editlah dahulu variabel IFACE dan TARGET sesuai dengan kebutuhan kita. Nah sebagai contoh, jika kita ingin melakukan simulasi pada komputer kita sendiri gantilah isi variabel IFACE dan TARGET menjadi seperti dibawah ini :

Sebenarnya apasih tujuan dari posting ini ?? Tujuan utama-nya yaitu adalah agar kita bisa mengetahui seberapa “cepat”-kah aplikasi yang kita bangun jika dihadapkan pada kondisi jaringan yang “jelek” (Bayangkan jika kita mempunyai client yang outletnya ada di pelosok desa, dan koneksi yang tersedia hanyalah GPRS saja )

Bagaimana teman-teman, tertarik untuk mencoba ???
